Why do we feel sleepy?

Every Sunday lunch is followed by dessert. Immediately after that I feel very sleepy. Dad says it’s because sweet foods activate the brain to make a compound in large amounts which makes us feel sleepy.

I feel sleepy when I have to study. It has nothing to do with my brain and everything to do with the fact that I have absolutely no interest in studies. If someone called me to play at that time I would be fresh as a daisy.

Mom falls asleep reading a book and baby falls asleep to mom’s lullaby. Sometimes mom falls asleep listening to her own lullaby, that’s because she is so tired.

The cells of our body do repair work when we sleep. When we are tired our body is in need of repair and rejuvenation so it naturally begins to feel sleepy.
