Lightening struck my window

It was a dark and cold evening. Dark burdened clouds hovered around. Claps of thunder were followed by streaks of lightening. I stared at the sky. I did not like the sounds of thunder; they filled me with a feeling of dread. Suddenly, I saw a bolt of lightening zigzag across the sky and hit the banyan tree in our backyard. The tree went up in flames. I couldn’t believe my eyes. The lightening had so much power. I quickly ran to the hall.

In that moment I heard another loud clap like it was in the back of my head and the whole house lit up like a thousand bulbs were alight. I turned my head in fear, only to see that the lightening had struck my bedroom window. My little flower pot was destroyed and my window curtains had been reduced to burnt rags. It was the first time, I witnessed the power of nature.
