एक बार वजीर अबुल फ़जल ने अकबर बादशाह के सामने बीरबल से कहा, “बीरबल, तुम्हें अकबर बादशाह ने सुअर और कुत्तों का अफसर नियुक्त किया है। “
इस पर बीरबल ने कहा, “बहुत खूब, तब तो आपको भी मेरी आज्ञा में रहना पड़ेगा। “
यह सुनते ही अकबर बादशाह हंस पड़े और वजीर अबुल फ़जल ने लज्जित होकर अपना सिर सुका लिया।
