Science Fair In July School
Last Saturday, my school, Delzonian International School organized a Science Fair. The main reason behind this fair was to spread awareness about good health and many fatal illnesses like cancer, diabetes, obesity, organ failure and heart diseases.
In a world of junk, fast food, adulterated raw vegetables, meat and fizzy drinks, we as students attempted to make a difference by displaying in what position we put our health and body with the passage of time. Our main effort was to explain the importance of healthy food and healthy life.
The fair was inaugurated by chief guest Harshada Mhaske, the founder of Poonam Nutrition Institute. Our fair focused on health issues arising from the unhealthy foods we eat to alternatives and solutions to fix our nutritional needs. The exhibition was divided into four different sections including ready-to-eat junk foods, adulterated and packaged groceries, drinks and clinic. Each section focused on what we consume and how it harmfully affected our body.
The food section examined into the ingredients used in pizzas, burgers, oily noodles and candies. We the students of standard IX were on drinks section. We tried to bring awareness about the inescapable effects of consuming packed juices. We also tried to aware the visitors that alcohol existed in certain quantity in certain foods. My partner John and I, constantly made efforts to highlight how terrible were the effects of alcohol consumption on the human liver corroding it until nothing is left.
Our fair also displayed ill effects of all the raw materials we created for our food including all vegetables, meat injected with growth hormones and toxic spices. Baby food, one of the purest forms of nutrition was also in trouble with many toxins. One of the students from class X claimed that human beings were born with twenty toxins and died with nine hundred.
The ‘Clinic’ focused on the ways to start fixing the damage we have already caused in our systems with special emphasis on how harmful drugs and pill are turning popular. The students in this section were measuring body mass index, identifying fat percentage and explaining out diets to match the needs of the body. Along with this, the students also demonstrated exercise routines, acupuncture and acupressure consultations. They also suggested natural therapy.
From the seriousness of the entire fair out came the Amusing Black Room. It creatively used mirrors, ultra violet lights, optical illusion, glow in the dark experiments and the UV dance to make the exhibition an unforgettable experience.
