Walking in the rain

Every year Dad lets us get drenched in the first heavy downpour of the monsoon. We have a beautiful lawn outside the house and it’s an amazing feeling to squish the wet grass with your bare feet. Afterwards we go for a long walk through the woods behind our home.

This year, the rains were late coming in and when they finally came it poured. We rushed out immediately and in minutes we were drenched from head to toe. The raindrops kept getting bigger and bigger. The sky was overcast with clouds.

We danced in the rain enjoying the feel of the rain against our faces. The woods behind our home have many trees, birds and animals. Every blade of grass seemed to be rejoicing with joy. The dusty landscape slowly started looking lush and green. We saw a peacock dancing around in the rain showing off his wonderful plumage unaware that we shared his excitement and his joy. We were glad we chose to walk in the rain.
