The Past

Individually or collectively, we all have a past. The past is nothing but life that has gone by. When the past of Nations are recorded, it is history. Knowing the past is very important both on a large scale as well as on a personal level.

The past is of great value as it tells us what happened before, where it happened, when it happened, how it happened, why it happened, what or who caused it and whether it can happen again. Reading the past gives us an insight to the future. We can recreate magical victories or we can bring about monstrous disasters depending on how we use or do not use our history. On a private level, our past lives with us as memories. While we revel in the happy past, we may choose to block our unpleasant memories. However, dealing with it is a more beneficial option as it sorts the present and future. No matter how easy or hard life has been, it always has a lesson to teach. Learning the lesson and letting go of the unpleasantness is the only way to peace.

The amazing thing about the past is that it never leaves us especially when we want it to and every time we delve into it we find treasure of some kind. Do not live in your past but do not fear it either. It is there to show you the way ahead.
