My First Travel Abroad

While my first trip abroad will always be memorable, it is the preparation that is etched in my memory. When plans were being made for our Singapore trip I kept touching wood for I could not believe it was happening!

It was supposed to be a package tour for three nights and four days and we were hoping to see as much as we could in the limited time. We browsed the net for details about Singapore. My father highlighted that shopping was very expensive just in case my mother and I went berserk. We had planned to see Merlion Park, China town, Little India, the various temples and mosques. Our travel agent was very patient considering the never ending flow of ridiculous questions. Then a terrible thing happened- all Visas except mine arrived, leaving me teary eyed. Thankfully my fear was short lived, as it came the next day. When the D Day approached, all were up and about before time. We reached the airport like excited school children, out on an excursion! Once aboard, I had my eyes fixed on the Air Hostesses. We reached in a couple of hours and I was excited about the change in the time zone. The next few days were busy enough to make us go dizzy. We ticked our must do lists. The land was beautiful beyond doubt. Strict laws ensured cleanliness all around. Singapore has carved a niche for itself with smart administrative moves. It was a pleasure to see a tiny country flourish this way.

All good things come to an end. We brought back great memories and infinite snaps to revive it. I would like to go back there again and this time, see it leisurely without any agenda.
