When Indians say they love ‘Chinese food’ what most of them mean is that they love ‘Indian Chinese’ food. Indian Chinese fusion food originates in Calcutta. This cuisine came in to existence because the Chinese settled in Calcutta decided to experiment with spices.

Indian Chinese is Chinese food flavored with Indian spices like cumin, coriander, turmeric, red pepper. Traditional Chinese food does not use any of these condiments.
