SBI’s first woman chairperson
When Arundhati Bhattacharya became the first woman chairperson of the 206-year-old State Bank of India, in October 2013, she also became the first woman to lead a Fortune 500 company in India. In 2014, Forbes listed Bhattacharya as the 36th most powerful woman in the world.
