The Displeasures of Shopping

In urban areas, we find several shopping complexes, malls, centers, galleries and supermarkets. They all provide different goods to the endless crowd of people whose only pleasure in life seems to be shopping.

Although shopping does have its unique pleasures, one must also understand that shopping also have its displeasures, possibly even more than the pleasures.

The pleasure of shopping is to find perfect goods for half the usual price, only after spending an hour or more of displeasure going from one store to another. In addition, there are dozens of other people searching items of their interest as well. Moreover, to make the situation worst, sometimes we have to buy things in little more quantity in order to qualify for more discounts. Finally, we end up buying something we are not particularly interested.

The interior of shopping centers are attractively decorated. They are air-conditioned. However, as modern shopping centers are so huge, it becomes almost an impossible task to visit every part and corner of the center in one day. Furthermore, parking costs adds to the expenses because the more time one spends in a shopping center the more will be the parking charges.

A great displeasure occurs when we desire to get something but do not know where to get it. Therefore, we consult the map that is displayed for the convenience of the people. It takes time to go through the complicated map and finally when we find the shop we want, we discover that it is four floors from where we are. We climb along up the escalators until we reached the shop only to find that what we want is not exactly available.

The most displeasing part of shopping is checking out. Often there are long queues of people all wanting to pay their bills at the same time. Therefore, we select what seems to be the fastest line only to find some mad headed having issues with the cashier.

Finally, when all the shopping is done and we have very good deals for the things we have purchased, we drag our heavy bags to the car or a cab and go home. On reaching home, we again undergo displeasure of unpacking the stuff we just bought.
